On April 3rd, 2024, at 07:58 local time, the China Earthquake Networks Center officially recorded a 7.3 magnitude earthquake in the waters off Hualien County, Taiwan (23.81 degrees north latitude, 121.74 degrees east longitude), with a depth of 12 kilometers.

Several residents of Hefei reported feeling noticeable tremors.

Mr. Xu, who works in the administrative district of Hefei, described the experience of the earthquake, stating, “The entire building was shaking, and the signboards in our office were swaying violently.Initially, Mr. Xu thought it was an earthquake in Hefei and quickly evacuated the building with a colleague.

Similarly, Ms. Chen, a resident of Baohe District in Hefei, also felt the tremors. She mentioned, “The buildings in our neighborhood were swaying.Ms. Chen initially felt dizzy and thought something was wrong with her health, but later realized it was due to the earthquake in Taiwan after watching the news.
