Latest World Ranking of Chinese Universities, 7 in TOP100

On 12 October, Times Higher Education (THE) released the World University Rankings 2023. Chinese mainland set another record, with seven institutions in the top 100, one more than last year.

Among them, Tsinghua University is ranked first in Asia and 16th in the world, followed by Peking University in 17th place. Wuhan University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology ranked 173rd and 176th respectively.

Which Chinese universities are among the top 100 in the world?

According to the Times World University Rankings 2023, the top five universities in the world are Oxford University (UK), Harvard University (USA), Cambridge University (UK), Stanford University (USA), and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (US).

The world’s top ten universities are contracted by the United Kingdom and the United States, including 7 in the United States and 3 in the United Kingdom.

It can be seen that there are 12 universities in China ranked among the top 100 in the world, including 7 mainland universities and 5 Hong Kong universities, and the rankings from high to low are as follows:
