The construction of the first Grade III Level A hospital in Hefei Airport Economic Demonstration Zone has been recently approved at the Planning Expert Meeting and will start this year. The Airport Zone hospital project, with a total investment of about RMB 820 million (including land charges) in preliminary audit survey, is located at southwest of the intersection of Xin’gang Avenue and Fenshuiling Road. Covering an area of about 175 mu with a total construction area of about 92,000 square meters, it mainly includes the outpatient and emergency buildings, medical technology buildings, inpatient buildings, rooms for logistical support, civil air defense facilities, garages for motor vehicles, rooms for partial equipment and related supporting facilities, and about 500 beds.
The medical and health facilities in the Airport Zone and Gaoliu Street have been relatively inadequate. At present, Gaoliu and Changgang Health Centers have been entrusted to the Second People’s Hospital of Anhui Province and have joined its medical consortium. In addition, a number of medical experts from the departments of infections, gastroenterology, oncology, anesthesiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and neurology take turns to the medical department of the health centers to conduct long-term examination of the patients. Moreover, the hospital will provide the health centers with regular expert outpatient service in such departments as stomatology, ophthalmology, gynecology, cardiovasology, and endocrinology (diabetes), so as to allocate high-quality medical resources to them and improve their level of medical services.
