The Traffic Police Detachment of the Hefei Public Security Bureau recently made public the list of people banned from driving for life in the city in January 2023.
So , what does it take for a driver to get a life ban ?
According to the relevant provisions of Articles 91 og 101 of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People’s Republic of China, there are two main situations in which a motor vehicle driver shall be “prohibited from driving for life”:
One is that a major traffic accident occurs after drinking or driving a motor vehicle while drunk . Criminal responsibility shall be investigated according to law, and the motor vehicle driver’s license shall be revoked by the traffic management department of the public security organ;
Second, in violation of the provisions of road traffic safety laws and regulations causing a major traffic accident . Criminal responsibility shall be investigated according to law, and the motor vehicle driving license shall be revoked .
The above two types of drivers will have their motor vehicle driving licenses revoked and will not be allowed to obtain a driving licenses again for life.
