Athletes from China’s Anhui Bag 3 Golds at Asian Youth Championships

Athletes from East China’s Anhui province claimed three gold medals and set a record at the 3rdAsian Youth Athletics Championships 2019, according to the provincial administration of sport.

Zhong Tao won the men’s pole vault on March 15 by clearing 5.00 meters. The silver and bronze went to a Japanese and an Indian, respectively.

In the women’s 200m, Li Yuting from Jieshou bagged the gold. The 17-year-old clocked 23.83 seconds, breaking the record of 24.60 seconds by her compatriot Feng Lulu.

In the following women’s relay race, Li worked together with her teammates – Liu Ziyi, Li Fengdan and Rao Xinyu – to win the gold in 2:10.71, followed by an India team and a Kazakh one.

The Chinese team led the medal tally by winning 31 medals including 12 golds. The Japanese team, who claimed 20 medals including 6 golds, ranked third behind the Indians with 27 medals including 8 golds.
