East China’s Anhui province launched an event on Thursday in its capital Hefei to promote local tourism resources.
Yu Aihua, head of the provincial publicity department, and vice governor Yang Guangrong attended the ceremony.
The monthlong event aims to promote Anhui’s rich spring tourism resources and present a panorama of the province that boasts fine views in spring and maintains a strong track record of economic growth, ecological protection and cultural development.
Some 100 reporters from domestic media outlets, including newspapers, TV stations and web portals, will tour all over the province during the following days.
Anhui is home to 11 5A-rated tourist attractions and nearly 200 4A-rated ones. Well-known scenic spots includ Huangshan Mountain, Jiuhua Mountain, Hongcun village, Xidi village and Sanhe ancient town. The province received 721 million Chinese visitors and 6.07 million overseas tourists in 2018.
